Avene: Why Choose Avene For Your Skin Concerns?

Avene

For the past few years, the Avene skincare brand has been launching some of the best Skin Recovery and nurturing products. They are known for their Thermal Spring Water which is enriched with a unique Skin Barrier Complex.

I’m so happy to introduce this awesome brand in my blog and hope you will find it useful too!

So, What is Avene?

Avene skincare products are made by Avene, a French skincare manufacturing brand that relies on pure thermal water rich in minerals from Avene’s hometown, France, to bring you some of their best skin nurturing products.

Skincare products like Avene Skin Recovery Cream are a byproduct of an initial treatment used as an effective remedy for treating skin diseases when Napoleon Bonaparte recovered from his serious injuries during the battle of Arcis Sur Aube .

This region was also believed to have healing properties since the Roman Empire era. Later , in the 1970s, local pharmacies began to promote Avene Thermal Spring Water as a skin treatment product.

Since then, many medical professionals have started suggesting its effectiveness in treating atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.

Avene products are made with thermal spring water, which is enriched with their Skin Barrier Complex, which contains a mineral.

This unique complex was created through extensive research on Avene’s own thermal spring water, which they discovered it has some very specific action, such as calming redness of the skin and helping repair cutaneous barrier function.

These properties make Avene skincare lotions great for sensitive and dry skin problems like eczema, psoriasis, rashes, rosacea, dermatitis, and dryness.

The complex also contains essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium that are important for skin protection.

Avene Thermal Spring Water is recognized by the National Eczema Association in America as well by many other associations around the world.

We know how serious this condition can be. Luckily we have Avene to bring us some great skincare products that are possible because of their thermal spring water!

What are the Best Avene Skincare Products?

Aven has a lot of skincare product lines and growing. Well, Let’s start with one of my favorite products from Avene, which is the best skin-soothing product I’ve tried so far:

Avene Skin Recovery Cream.

The Avene Skin Recovery Cream is not your average skin repairing cream. It is fast-acting, soothing, and restores the skin’s resilience to fight back aging and repair chapped skin.

Some people like its milky texture while others find it a bit greasy, but once you put it on your skin, the cream soaks quickly into the skin without leaving any unwanted residue.

It has a very gel-cream consistency which is similar to Avene Thermal Spring Water. It does not have much of a fragrance, and this makes the cream perfect for all types of skin, including sensitive ones!

Having dry and sensitive skin myself, I can say that this product works really great at hydrating my face without the chance of breaking me out.

It can be used as an overnight treatment or everyday moisturizer. Also relieves itchiness, flaking, and redness caused by dermatitis, psoriasis and eczema!

Avene Pros: Fast-acting Soothes and restores the skin’s resilience Calming to redness of the skin Soaks quickly into the skin without leaving any residue Perfect for all types of dry and sensitive skins, including eczema.

Avene Cons: A bit greasy Not a lot of people like its milky texture I wish it came in a bigger jar

Next is another Avene product with thermal water that can be used as an everyday moisturizer as well; it is Avene Cleanance K Cream.

avene soapless gel

Avene Cleanance K Cream.

Avene Cleanance is the super skin moisturizing cream that rivals Cerave’s Skin Moisturising cream and Cetaphil. Avene Cleanance K Cream has been my go-to moisturizer for days when my face needs some serious TLC.

Its lightweight, the non-greasy formula makes it perfect even for oily, acne-prone skins giving you that hydrated feel without clogging your pores.

It has a light scent, which makes it great for any skin type and has a cooling sensation that I just love when applied on my face. It can be used as an everyday cream or night moisturizer.

Avene Cleanance K Cream can also be used as a makeup base before you apply a foundation to dry and chapped skin that needs an effective, long-lasting moisturizer!

Avene Cleanance K Cream Pros: Lightweight Non-greasy formula Perfect even for oily, acne-prone skins Gives you that hydrated feel without clogging your pores Super soothing and perfect if you are looking for some skin recovery Made with Avene’s patented Skin Barrier Complex Formula

Avene Cleanance K Cream Cons: Contains parabens (although its not in high levels) Some people still prefer Cetaphil over this Might not be hydrating enough very dry skin conditions does, without

Avene Cleanance K Cream is also a bit pricey compared to Cerave moisturizing cream or Cetaphil skin Moisturizer, but Avene Cleanance K Cream is worth every penny!

The next product is one of my favorite eye creams. Avene XeraCalm A.D Eye Cream is simply the best and most effective eye cream I have ever used for my dry, sensitive skin.

Avene Cleanance

Avene XeraCalm A.D Eye Cream.

If you are looking for a non-irritating eye cream to reduce redness, soothe burning sensations and moisturize extremely dry under eyes, then this is it!

This eye cream has ultra-hydrating properties that never fail to impress me day after day! It’s made with Avene’s patented Skin Barrier Complex which helps repair the protective function of the skin barrier similar to what thermal spring water does for its skin-soothing, anti-inflammatory, and healing properties.

It’s a very moisturizing formula with the perfect texture that doesn’t irritate my dry under eyes at all! The only con I see is the price which might be a bit expensive if you are on a tight budget but Avene XeraCalm A.D Eye Cream is worth every penny!

Avene XeraCalm A.D Eye Cream Pros: Non-irritating Ultra-hydrating Reduces redness Soothes burning sensations Perfect for extremely dry under eyes Contains Avene’s patented Skin Barrier Complex

Avene XeraCalm A.D Eye Cream Cons: Expensive (but worth it!) My eyes don’t feel refreshed after using it Might not be hydrating enough for very dry skin conditions (you might want to try a different eye cream alternative)

Avene Cleanance Soapless Gel Cleanser with Thermal Spring Water.

The Avene Cleanance soapless gel cleanser is a robust face wash that is perfect for people with acne-prone skins with non-comedogenic ingredients.

This means that Avene clearance soapless gel cleanser is safe even for those troubled acne-prone skin types because there are no pore-clogging ingredients that will worsen your acne. Instead, it contains soothing ingredients like Avene’s patented Skin Barrier Complex formula.

It’s so gentle on my dry skin, but it effectively removes makeup and leaves my skin squeaky clean without making it all tight like other cleansers do.

The Avene Cleanance soapless gel cleanser is also free from fragrance, parabens, colorants, and preservatives. It contains thermal spring water which makes this face wash perfect for people with sensitive skins as the formula is very mild on the skin!

You can feel a tingling sensation whenever I apply it on my face, but that’s just how my skin tells me if its safe to use or not.

Avene Cleanance Soapless Gel Cleanser Pros: Perfect for acne-prone skins Gentle Does not dry out your natural skin ingredients (no pore-clogging ingredients).

It gives you that squeaky clean feeling; great for those with sensitive skins. Although it’s a bit pricey, Avene Cleanance soapless gel cleanser is worth every penny!

Avene Cleanance Soapless Gel Cleanser Cons: I personally think the price is quite expensive compared to other face washes I am currently using (Cetaphil and CeraVe) Even though it’s not pore-clogging, this face wash might not be hydrating enough for people with dry skin.

Make sure to use an effective moisturizer on top of this if you have extremely dry skin conditions. The bottle is too small as well, but the good thing about it is that a little goes a long way!

Best Avene Cleanance soapless gel Cleanser Alternatives.

If Avene Cleanance soapless Gel Cleanser wasn’t working for me, I would certainly look up to two of the best Avene Cleanance soapless Gel Cleanser’s alternatives Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and Cerave.

These two skincare products also come with effective anti-irritant with anti-inflammatory properties. Cetaphil and Cerave also have skin-soothing and calming benefits so these products are a perfect alternative for people who have sensitive skin conditions like dermatitis, acne-prone skins and dry skin but found Avene as not a suitable skincare product for their skincare needs.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is the best option if you have sensitive skin because it’s free from parabens, fragrances, dyes, and other harsh ingredients that might contain pore-clogging substances that can irritate your skin as well.

It’s very effective too, even without all those fancy ingredients! It cleanses my skin really well and gives me that squeaky clean feeling minus irritating my skin! It comes in a big bottle which makes it worth every penny just like Avene Cleanance soapless gel cleanser.

I like to apply a generous amount on my face and massage it into my skin for about 1 minute or so before rinsing it off with warm water!

After that, I would proceed to toning my skin (my next most favorite step) with Thayer’s witch hazel astringent lotion spray, which is also suitable if you have acne-prone skin. 🙂

Why Choose Avene For Your Skin Concerns?

There are good reasons why Avene is the best choice over other skincare products. Avene is the #1 European dermatological skincare brand that focuses on skincare for sensitive skin.

It uses thermal spring water that’s rich in oligo-elements and has proven to soothe, soften, comfort, and re-mineralize the skin. Avene doesn’t test any of its products on animals; they’re cruelty-free!

Are Avene Products Affordable?

You might be surprised that Avene isn’t as expensive compared to other big brands in the market that also claim to have similar benefits! At least I was when my aunt, who has very sensitive and acne-prone skin, introduced me to this product!

If you’re looking for the best skin care products that are effective and affordable, Avene is a must-try!

It’s not expensive to start with because they have several options from their different product categories based on your skin concerns.

Avene Works Better To Reduce Skin Redness

Avene also works better to reduce any skin redness caused by rashes, eczema, or sunburn.

As mentioned earlier, Avene’s thermal spring water is rich in oligo-elements which reduces redness and soothes skin irritations! It also helps to moisturize your skin without leaving any residue behind.

When you know, you’re going out for a whole day under the scorching sun or those windy days that might dry out your skin, make sure to have this with you for instant relief, especially after washing up! 🙂

I usually apply a generous amount on my face before putting on some makeup, and it gives me that hydrated, dewy feel all day long!

I love how Avene hydrates the entire face properly because I do have dry skin, so my face tends to get flaky sometimes, but Avene is just perfect for me!

What’s more exciting? Avene products are also available in different forms too:

Cleansers, moisturizers, masks, toners and eye care range are just some of the options you can have based on your skincare concerns. Avene has it all even as far as makeup is concerned, plus they’re affordable too!

Some of my favorites from their line that I’ve personally tried and tested (the good ones) are:

Avene Caresse Waterproof Creamy Foundation. This foundation feels light on skin without leaving any residue or giving a cakey look — which stays put with its oil-free formula!

Avene Emulsion Spray. This is my quick everyday fix to moisturize whenever I’m lazy because it’s so easy to apply. It also gives a glowy finish which makes you look fresh all day long, even without any makeup on — don’t you just love this? 🙂

Avene Skincare Products Softens Aging Skin

The one thing you will love about Avene skincare products is how they soften any aging skin and rejuvenates it! Oh, yes!

It deals with dryness, flakiness, and any fine lines that might be appearing — it does not happen overnight, but after weeks of using Avene products, I noticed a difference on my skin.

I use Avene Emulsion Spray daily as a moisturizer (it doesn’t feel sticky or greasy) to give my face more moisture, making it plump and smooth — I don’t get any wrinkles anymore.

Plus, the smell is so good, too, making me want to apply this all over again even when I’m done for the day. 🙂

It’s clinically tested and approved by dermatologists for being able to produce results that regenerates the skin — making it healthier overall! This means we can trust Avene’s skincare products in reducing any redness, irritation, and dryness caused by acne or any other skin conditions.

All these benefits are a result of Avene Thermal Spring Water combined with active ingredients like Clemastine which reduces redness and irritation on the skin while also exfoliating dead cells!

Avene has always been my go-to skincare brand whenever I have some sort of rashes or irritations on the skin, and I’m really glad it always works for me.

Its line is a trusted dermatological skin care solution that you can rely on when you need help with your skin.

Skin dehydration is one of the most common skin concerns that Avene helps you deal with by providing you skincare products that can help hydrate your skin.

It is proven to have an immediate and prolonged moisturizing effect which leads to smooth, soft skin.

Avene helps the skin retain moisture without adding excess oil or grease, which results in a non-sticky feel after application!

What I love about Avene Skincare Products

The one thing I love about Avene skincare products is their thermal water which has been used for centuries as part of natural beauty treatments.

The waters have been known to heal and soothe skin irritations like rashes and redness caused by allergies or sensitive skin for hundreds of years.

Avene Thermal Spring Water, also known as Glycelene water, can be found in Avene cleansers, creams, masks, and toners. It provides instant hydration without clogging pores since being 100% natural means it’s safe even if you’re most prone to acne breakouts.

Aside from this, I love how they produce great quality skincare products that are perfect for everyday use — whatever your skin concerns might be, Avene has got you covered.

Thermal Spring Water From Avene Soothes Chapped Skin.

The ancient discovery of Avene’s thermal spring water soothes chapped skin (my favorite is the Dry Skin Body Lotion) and it also reduces inflammation which results in less redness.

It provides instant relief for dry, irritated, and chapped skin because of its soothing properties while calming down any unwanted reactions!

The thermal water contains a unique blend of minerals like magnesium, calcium, potassium, and sodium that regenerate the skin’s natural protective barrier.

So you will be left with soft and smooth, healthy-looking skin — this is why I always trust Avene when I need something to calm my sensitive skin from rashes or breakouts. 🙂

Avene Does Not Contain Harsh Chemicals.

When looking for safe for use skincare products, harsh chemicals that are not kind to the skin like DMDM and parabens are always my top listed as a no! no! no!

Luckily, my favorite Avene products, like their face creams which I use every day before going to bed are free from harsh chemicals.

It’s great that skincare products like Avene don’t rely on harsh chemicals; instead, they are mild and gentle enough to be used even for the most sensitive skin types. Avene cares for your face — just look at their ingredients list!

Avene Moisturizing Cream Is Non-comedogenic Yet Still Provides Hydration.

Features of Avene Moisturizing Cream is its ability to maintain hydration without clogging up pores which makes it a good choice if you have acne-prone skin.

Its formula contains Zinc Oxide (Sunscreen), an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial substance, so it works best in soothing irritated redness and preventing further breakouts.

It also has Avene Thermal Spring Water, which is beneficial for soothing and regenerating your skin!

And last but not the least is Avene Eucerit — it moisturizes dry, flaky, and itchy skin while strengthening your natural lipid barrier that protects from irritants and moisture loss for a plump, smooth finish. 🙂

Avene Products Are Ideal For Everyday Use.

Aside from their amazing skincare products that are perfect for sensitive skin conditions like me I know that you will benefit too if you have tried some of their skincare items before!

Their thermal water works great as an after-shower moisturizer as part of your in-shower skincare regime, aside from alleviating dry skin and soothing itchy reactions.

It’s best when I use it twice a day but just once a day is enough to maintain the healthy glow on my face every time I get out of the shower.

They also offer sunscreens free from both parabens and fragrances, so you can be sure they won’t cause any future breakouts, making them perfect for daily use!

Does Avene Work For Eczema Prone Skin?

If you have eczema-prone skin, it’s hard to find the right skin care product that could soothe eczema flare-ups. But after trying out Avene to see if it will work for my skin too, I was amazed!

Most of you who have combination skin know my story about it as a mixed-race girl. Thanks to Avene products, I have found them providing my skin the hydration it needs with its Thermal Spring Water which has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties perfect for sensitized skin.

This brand also offers sunscreens that are free from both parabens and fragrances, so you can be sure they won’t cause any future breakouts, which makes them perfect for daily use!

In general, Avene works great on eczema-prone skin. They work well when used consistently as long as you cleanse your face thoroughly before using the Avene moisturizer, as this is a crucial step to keep your pores clear.

Is Avene Good For Atopic Dermatitis?

Atopic Dermatitis can be challenging to keep under control, no wonder many people who looked at what works best for dermatitis often wonder if Avene is good for Atopic Dermatitis.

In general, Avène XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cream good for Atopic dermatitis. This non-greasy cream helps restore the skin barrier and seal in moisture to treat dry, itchy eczema-prone skin or dermatitis.

For those of you not familiar with Atopic dermatitis, It’s a chronic medical condition that results in inflammation, redness, and skin rashes.

For me, it sometimes looks like psoriasis on my arms and legs, which makes them extremely dry, rough, and patches of scaly skin or what I call an ‘alligator skin’.

It’s a prevalent skin condition for mixed-race people like myself as I have a combination skin type that is partly dry and oily too.

I tried Avene out of desperation to see if it could help with my skin’s rough texture, which made its appearance even worse. After using their Thermal Spring Water for several days as part of my daily skincare routine (every time after I get out of the shower), there was a visibly noticeable difference!

My skin became less irritated plus the redness has subsided, so now I am confident enough to let myself wear short sleeves!

I remember when my little sister had developing signs of eczema and skin irritation with scabs at the back of her ears and the arm folds, so I recommended my mum get Avene’s junior skin moisturizer to go with the Thermal Spring Water. It worked for her, too, after using it just like me.

Overall, if you have Atopic dermatitis where you need a moisturizer that’s ultra-hydrating plus soothing and calming, Avene is a great way to go!

This brand offers sunscreens free from both parabens and fragrances, so you can be sure they won’t cause any future breakouts, which makes them perfect for daily use!

How To Use Avene Thermal Spring Water?

I usually wet my face before applying Avene thermal spring water spray to ensure that I don’t go overboard just because its too expensive!

For someone who never used sprays before, you’ll be surprised at how this product effectively coats your entire face evenly without leaving any sticky residue.

Avene thermal spring water spray should be applied directly from the bottle onto your face, at a distance of about 25cm to 30cm away from your face – this ensures that you don’t apply too much on your skin and wasting product!

(You’ll know if you’re applying too much because it will feel sticky and some residues might be left behind.) I usually make 5 to 6 spritzes before proceeding with my moisturizer.

Where To Buy Avene Skincare Products?

Though Avene skincare products are available to buy on select highstreet and drugstores, the best place to buy Avene skincare products is on Amazon or Walmart.

The reason I recommend these two is because they carry the entire line of Avene skincare products.

On Amazon, you can buy Avene Cleanance K Cream for low deal prices and Avene Emollient Cream Light with free shipping on orders on their free 2-day delivery with Prime.

At Walmart, prices may vary (it might be just a dollar more) for both products plus you don’t need to worry about minimum order requirements or long wait times.

Both stores offer a 90-day return policy (only items fulfilled by them), giving you enough time if an item doesn’t work out for you.
